I met Rick 15 years ago while working at Landmark Graphics in Caracas, Venezuela, he used to manage the consulting business for the Americas. Rick was a great guy to work for and with, his sense of humor was one of a kind and he taught me early on that the best way to succeed on anything in life is to believe in oneself.
Just a week ago we spoke and planned to meet in Houston for the AAPG, that meeting never took place as Rick passed away suddenly last April 10th. I will cherish all the fun memories I have of him, will try my best to apply his ways on my future endeavors and will also remember to live life at the fullest as he did.
For sure we will miss Rick and his loud/Hawaiian shirts.
